LADIES FOOTBALL
Congratulations to the u14 team who won the league shield final against St.Ailbes after a fine display of Football.
Welldone to the Gaelic4Mothers&Others squad who participated in their first Munster Blitz over the weekend.
WHEELCHAIR CAMOGIE
Our U12s were delighted to hear that a number of them are going to take part in a camogie match v Munster Wheelchair Camogie team in July! As well as helping to raise awareness for Wheelchair camogie, we want to show the girls what its like to take yourself out of your comfort zone and try something for the 1st time! Munster Wheelchair Camogie were recently visited by Olympic gold medalist Kellie Harrington, so that will be a tough act to follow! Our first practice night take place this week, with the match itself taking place on the 2nd July. Watch our social media pages for updates!
JUNIOR FOOTBALL
Mungret St. Pauls 0-12 Camogue Rovers 2-12
It is unusual to have home advantage for a final but this is what happened in the County Junior A football final on Monday 20 June 2022 when our third adult football team met with Camogue Rovers in Mungret. This has been the last of many league matches for our footballers.
Camogue Rovers had a better start as they gained a three point lead before Mungret St. Pauls got off the ground. It was a slow take off as Camogue Rovers kept hitting the target while Mungret St. Pauls struggled to get the three points on the board by the half time whistle with Camogue Rovers on a goal and eight points.
The second half was a much better game for Mungret St. Pauls although they went nine points down before they hit a run of scores leaving just a three point gap between the two sides. Unfortunately for Mungret St. Pauls Camogue Rovers had enough time left to hit the net to finish the game with a two goal difference.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Congratulations to our U-10 and a half Community games hurling team that put in some great games and over came some tough opposition to come out on top.
The final last night was a very tight game with Mungret Regional just squeezing past Cappamore with the final score 2-7 to 2-6.
Well done also to all out participants in the long Puck. Congratulations to Sean Moriarty coming in second in the long puck. A tough challenge with Monaleen winning. In 3rd place was our own Gemma and John O’Gradys grandson for Monaleen, Mark.
Well done to all our players to took part in the many different events run this weekend.
U-17 Football
Mungret St. Pauls 6-12 Kildimo Pallaskenry 2-6
On Tuesday 21 June 2022 in Kildimo our Division 1 U-17 footballers put on a powerful display of football. Most of our score was built up in the first half with Kildimo Pallaskenry struggling to get passed us to get a score in. Half time score was 4-10 to 1-1.
The second half saw Kildimo Pallaskenry put in a strong start pointing 3 balls before Mungret St. Pauls replied with our final scores. There was too big a separation between the two teams for a come back for Kildimo Pallaskenry but they did add on another goal and three points before the final whistle.
A great opening game for our U-17 footballers.
U-13 HURLING
Mungret St. Pauls 1-4 Cappamore 2-3
In the Division 3 hurling in Cappamore on Wednesday 22 June 2022 our second team played very well as they were up against a stronger side but Mungret St. Pauls really put it up to them. By the end of the first half there was only one point separating the two sides. The second half was where Mungret St. Pauls saw their goal boosting the score a bit bur Cappamore still had a point lead. It was just two points in the end between the two sides but Mungret St. Pauls were happy with their game.
Mungret St. Pauls 3-6 Killacolla Gales 0-1
The weather was not very pleasant on Friday 24 June 2022 as Mungret St. Pauls travelled to Ballyagran to play Killacolla Gaels. Our opposition had many young players who were nipping at our heals. There was a slow start to the game with only three points scored in the first half between the two sides, Mungret St. Pauls had a slight lead with points. The second half the weather deteriorated but the scores started coming for Mungret St. Pauls as they held most of the possession, this was a great win for us.
U-17 FOOTBALL
Mungret St. Pauls 1-11 St. Senans 6-6
In Mungret on Wednesday 22 June 2022 our second U-17 football team welcomed St. Senans. This was the first game of the season for our players and they put in a great game but unfortunate for Mungret St. Pauls St. Senans were in a goal scoring mood as they powered their way up the score board through the three pointer shots. Mungret St. Pauls put in a hugh effort on the pitch and built up a strong score only to come off the pitch second best.
U-19 FOOTBALL
In U-19 football we have two teams, Premier were to play Cappamore and the B team were to play Galtee Gaels over the weekend but unfortunately neither of our opposition could field a team giving us a bye in the first round. Both teams only have two more games. The next games take place on Friday 8th of July.
U-7 HURLING
An early start for our under 7s in Caherline, they took on Caherline and Crecora. Some great hurling skills on display despite the weather on Saturday 25 June 2022.
