SOUTH LIBERTIES CLUB NOTES
U21 A Football Championship
Our amalgamated team of South Liberties and Crecora Manister begin their football campaign next Sunday November 28th V Oola in Crecora at 12pm, with their second game on Tuesday 30th V Kildimo/Pallaskenry in Mick Neville Park at 7.30pm. Good luck to all involved.
AGM
The Club will hold its AGM on Monday December 6th with all details appearing on Social Media as they unfold.
Limerick GAA Medal Presentation
The Limerick Senior Hurlers were presented with an abundance of medals last Saturday night at a Gala ceremony, in the Strand Hotel to celebrate their historic and amazing triumphs since 2018. In total 51 players received medals, representing 22 clubs. Congratulations to our own Club heroes Barry Nash and Brian Ryan on their well-deserved awards.
Parish Lotto
Congratulations to our long-standing committee member and mentor Declan Brosnahan, who won the local parish lotto last week and we hope Declan and his family enjoy a great Christmas with their winnings.
FACILITIES COMMITTEE
There is an abundance of minor works to be undertaken within our club both inside the clubhouse and externally on our grounds. A Facility committee will be set up in the next couple of weeks so if anyone has any free time on occasion, please let us know. We have some volunteers always working in the background to strive to keep standards up to date and we want to take this opportunity to thank these people, but we do need more help. Every little helps!
Postponement of our 40th Anniversary Celebrations
The club had great plans in place to honour our Senior Hurlers of ’78 and ’81, along with our Juvenile teams of ’81 in early December but have now taken the decision to postpone our function until 2022. Due to the high escalation of covid 19 positive cases, chairman Mike Fitzpatrick, along with the executive members, decided to show due care and diligence from the Club towards our members. In the meantime, if anyone has any photos at home from the above years, we would be grateful if you could contact the club so we can scan them for a booklet we hope to put together.
