SOUTH GAA NOTES
Incredible 8 days for Clubs in South Limerick
Over the last 2 weekends, 5 South Divisional Teams are Limerick County Champions. Last weekend we saw Glenroe make history to claim the Intermediate Hurling Title when they defeated Newcastlewest 1-13 to 0-10 in Kilmallock and this weekend Blackrock won the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship (replay) defeating Kildimo Pallaskenry. Full time from the LIT Gaelic Grounds was Blackrock 1-18 Kildimo Pallaskenry 0-15. Blackrock now go on and play Fr O’Neills (Cork Champions) in Kilfinane next Sunday the 3rd November at 1.30pm
Kilmallock reversed the cards on Castletown Ballyagran who won the West Divisional Final a few weeks ago to win the County Junior A Hurling Championship in the LIT Gaelic Grounds on Saturday afternoon last. Full time score Kilmallock 0-19 Castletown Ballyagran 0-14. As Kilmallock Juniors are the Clubs second team they are ineligible to play in the Munster Championship so Castletown Ballyagran go on to represent Limerick in the Munster Junior A Hurling Championship and play the Waterford Champions on 16th November (Waterford Venue)
On Sunday we saw Galtee Gaels go on and claim the Intermediate Football Championship Title. Both teams could not be separated 2 weeks ago when they finished level but this time Galtee Gaels were sure to come out on top defeating Gerald Griffins in the LIT Gaelic Grounds. It finished Galtee Gaels 1-11 Gerald Griffins 0-12. Galtee Gaels now play St Breckans (Clare Champions) on 9th November (Limerick Venue)
