KILDIMO/PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES

LIMERICK U-20 FOOTBALLERS: A huge congratulations to two clubmen, Jamie Hickey and James Pomeroy, who have been named in the Limerick U-20 football panel for the Championship season ahead. Both were key players in last year’s county-winning minor team and the U-21 county finalists, as well as winning the Junior A Football Championship. Two excellent footballers, we’d like to wish them and their Limerick teammates the very best of luck for the season ahead!

LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: Best wishes to Peter Nash, Tony McCarthy, John Chawke and all the Limerick senior footballers as they travel to Cork next Saturday for a Munster semi-final. They had a superb win away to Tipperary in their first match and now are just one win away from a Munster final. It is a huge honour to have three clubmen involved and we’d like to wish the Limerick team the very best of luck!

LIMERICK SENIOR HURLERS: Then on Sunday, the Limerick senior hurlers travel to Walsh Park to take on Waterford in the Munster Championship. Best wishes to our clubman, Kyle Hayes, as well as Ruairí Maher in the backroom team, for the weekend!

CELTIC CHALLENGE: Aaron O’Donovan was part of the Limerick Sarsfields team who just lost out to the Clare Blues in Round 4 of the Celtic Challenge, on a 2-13 to 3-17 scoreline. Well done to Aaron and all his teammates who produced a strong second-half display but just fell short of victory.

U-14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 3-10 Mungret 2-10. Our U-14 footballers continue to prepare well for Féile, as they notched another Championship victory over a strong Mungret side. After three games, it puts them up to second in the table and continue to impress with their style of football ahead of the trip to Mayo! Congratulations to all involved for yet another excellent win!

U-14 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1-10 Kileedy/Tournafulla 1-5. Our U-14s are also impressing in the hurling Championship as they made it four wins from four after a hard-fought victory over Kileedy/Tournafulla. They had notched up some massive victories in their previous games but this was one where they had to show real character and composure to seal the victory, and it really shows they can play any way that it is required. Well done to all involved!

U-8 FOOTBALL: Our U-8s were out in a football blitz at the weekend, and it was great to see the numbers, skill and style from all involved!

CLUB LOTTO: The lotto numbers on 20 May 2019 in the Beer Garden were 6, 12, 22 and 32. There was no winner of the overall draw, while the winners of the €25 lucky dips were TB Listowel, Richard Quirke, Paul Browne, Peter and Lily Hickey.

The jackpot continues to rise, now reaching €16,700 for next week’s draw in De Bucket. Please continue to support the club lotto, which is the most vital source of funds to fund all our teams from U-6 up to adult grade! An annual subscription is just €100 (€50 for 6 months, €25 per quarter or €8.50 per month) and a subscription form can be requested from any lotto seller or committee member.

REGISTRATION: The deadline for registration has now passed; anybody who has not registered or paid, please do so as soon as possible as unregistered players are ineligible to take the field or to train with the club.

CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: Sadly, there was no club winner in the Club Limerick draw for May, which took place at the weekend. However, there is no better way to support both and show our players you’re right behind them all the way. Kildimo Pallaskenry GAA is very fortunate to have a number of players involved with county teams in both hurling and football across a number of grades. Join the CLUB Limerick Draw online or with any club committee member. Support your club and county teams
