Feile

Our U14s have been selected to take part in this year’s all Ireland Feile competition on June 7th-9th. We will be based in Carrignavar being host by the local GAA club there Carrig na bhfearr. This is a great honour for all our players and mentors and we wish them the very best in this prestigious competition. Plans are now under way for this event.

Our cul camp this year is on from Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 13th. Places can be booked on www.kellogsculcamps.ie

U14

Our u14s played Claughan last Wednesday night in the football championship in Knockainey. After a very strange first half in which Claughan totally dominated we were only 3 points down at half-time 2-6 to 2-3. We took the lead after half time but unfortunately we leaked some terrible soft goals in the last couple of minutes of the game to eventually lose on a score line of 5-8 to 3-8. We have a very busy 2 weeks coming Monday night away to Pallasgreen in football Wednesday night away to Ballybrown in hurling the following Monday at home to Caherline in hurling and the following weekend we are in Cork for the Feile. These are a very busy bunch of lads who already this season have played 17 hurling matches and 5 football matches and numerous training sessions.

U12 Our u12s made the trip to Ballybricken on Thursday in Rd 2 of our county hurling league. Taking on the local side we started slowly and gave the home side a 2 goal start very early. We fought back and went in at half time 2 points down in very wet conditions. Our second have wasn’t as good and our work rate dropped below the standards we had set over the last few games. Ballybricken ran out winners on scoreline of H-H 3-01 Ballybricken 5-03

U8

Our u8 footballers produced a fine display of football Friday evening at the County Blitz, we had 18 players and they all thoroughly enjoyed their evening with some great scores and also some tough defending on display.

U6

Our u6s hosted an u6 hurling blitz on Friday in our GAA field. We hosted Blackrock and Knockainey. This was a great evening for our underage 6s. For some of these players it was the first time they got to play games for our club and to wear our club jerseys. We had 16 players togged out dividing into 3 teams. Knockainey and Blackrock both had 2 teams. Each one of our teams played 3 games each. And each of our 3 teams won all their matches. What a night it was for these future stars of the club. Great thanks to Knockainey and Blackrock for coming down to take part and to our u6 mentors for organising a great blitz. Well done all. Players who played on the night were: Leighton Heir, Kyle Jackson, Tom McMahon, Mikey Hayes, David Power, Scott Gallagher, Patrick Sheedy, Ben O Connor, Darragh O Dea, Daniel Collins, Cormac Dundon, Charlie Brennan, Finn Reale, Darragh Feen, Conor Mulchay, James Mulchay.
