KILDIMO/PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES

LIMERICK U-20 FOOTBALLERS: On Wednesday night, the Limerick U-20 footballers defeated Tipperary in Rathkeale by a single point. Our own James Pomeroy was part of the matchday panel which saw the team show incredible resilience: down to 14 men, having seen a three-point lead evaporate, they dug deep to score a last-gasp winner. They now have a semi-final against Kerry to look forward to this Wednesday and everyone involved with the club would like to wish James and the rest of the team and management the very best of luck in that fixture!

LIMERICK U-14 FOOTBALLERS: A massive congratulations to Sam Guerin, Ross Allen and Cian O’Sullivan who have all made the Limerick U-14 football panel for 2020! Yet another huge achievement for these players and a huge honour for them personally, their families and the club!

LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: On Sunday in Mick Neville Park, the Limerick footballers put on a display of total football and rampaged through a very decent Wicklow side, racking up five goals in the process! This win puts them clear at the top of the table with four wins from four games. Tony McCarthy was again a source of strength at wing-back and was involved in a huge number of attacks across the 70 minutes. Peter Nash made his return from injury to take a place on the matchday panel for the first time in the league which was fantastic to see, and John Chawke is also a member of the panel! It’s been a superb start to the season for the Limerick footballers and three lads, and we’d like to wish them the very best of luck for the remainder of the campaign!

LIMERICK SENIOR HURLERS: Then, it was the turn of the Limerick senior hurlers who made it three wins from three with a two-point victory over Cork, for their first win Páirc Uí Chaoimh since 2001! We saw Kyle Hayes make his return from injury and he put in a typically strong performance, hitting two points from play, setting up numerous other scores while also racking up countless tackles! Darren O’Connell also came off the bench and won a crucial free in the latter stages, to help Limerick secure a narrow victory! The hurlers racked up an incredible 29 points down in Cork and both our men played huge parts in the victory. Next up is Westmeath at home in the Gaelic Grounds!
