Well Done Limerick
Last Friday evening in Ennis, the Limerick Minor Footballers booked their place in the Munster Final for the first time since 1998 when they overcame Clare with a very impressive 3-11 to 0-12 victory. They will now face Cork on August 11th in the Munster Final with the venue to be decided. Fr. Caseys are delighted to have six players on the panel namely Cullan Quigley, Michael Kilbridge, Marc Nolan, Ronan Quirke, Callum Boyle and Dylan O’Connor. Both Ronan (1-0) and Marc (0-01) started in the forwards and delivered important scores. Culann started at corner back replacing his club mate Michael who missed out through illness. Callum was also introduced midway through the second half. Our club is very proud of these players and their efforts and we wish them the best of luck in the final. They will start as outsiders but Limerick GAA is on an upward curve and an upset will not be impossible.
Best of Luck also to the Limerick Senior Hurlers who take on Waterford this coming Saturday in the All-Ireland Semi-Final at Croke Park. After the heroics of the Munster Final we will be hoping for a repeat performance to keep their hopes of retaining the All-Ireland crown alive. Fingers crossed that further success for John Kiely and his charges is on the horizon.
Condolences
Fr. Caseys GAA Club would like to offer its condolences to the Curtin family in Ballaugh on the passing of their father Kieran. His son Peter gave great service to our club as goalkeeper throughout recent decades and was the number one for our last County Senior Championship win back in 2006. Kieran and his family have always been great supporters of numerous voluntary organisations within the town including our GAA Club. May he rest in peace
