Junior A Football Championship
On a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon we travelled the familiar road to Ballybricken Bohermore to play Hospital Herbertstown in the third round of the Junior A Football Championship. We were slow to get started and Hospital Herbertstown had 2-01 after thirteen minutes. Evan Power and Ian Keatley got our opening two points. Tristan O’Sullivan got our other two points of the half from frees. Hospital Herbertstown slotted home two more goals before half time. Ahane 0-04 Hospital Herbertstown 3-02. Davy Laing scored points along with Tristan in the second half along with Mark Donnellan, Tommy O’Donnell and Peter Donohoe. Hospital Herbertstown scored two more goals, one from a penalty and won the game on a score line of Ahane 0-11 Hospital Herbertstown 5-08.
East Junior B Hurling Championship
Our Junior B’s put up a titanic battle against Fedamore on Thursday evening. Points from Ronan Reale and Alan Doherty meant we went in at half time only two points down. Ahane 0-04 Fedamore 0-06. Not a minute into the second half and Eanna Kennedy rattled the back of the net and put us a point ahead. The sides sharded scores from there on out and were level on several occasions. Ronan Reale slotted home some more frees and with five minutes to go it was Ahane 1-08 Fedamore 0-11. However, Fedamore’s fresh legs showed, and they scored eight unanswered points in the remaining five minutes. Full time Ahane 1-08 Fedamore 0-19.
U7 Hurling
Well done to our U7’s who played in their first regional blitz on Saturday morning in South Liberties.
