Membership is due in the coming weeks, and it is vital that all playing members have paid their respective membership fees before the start of the various league campaigns as no player will be allowed to play for insurance purposes until they have paid their membership.
Intercounty Activity:
Limerick senior footballers rebounded from their disappointing defeat at the hands of Westmeath last week and kept their promotion hopes alive on Saturday night with an outstanding victory over one of the pre league favourites Laois. Ahead of the league campaign an away trip to Portlaoise against the home side was always going to be a daunting proposition but once again Limerick put in an outstanding performance to come away with the victory. With Saturday victory Limerick have not only secured their place in Division for the 2023 campaign but victory in in their final round encounter against Fermanagh this Sunday will secure them promotion to Division 2, a league final berth and a place in the 2022 All Ireland Senior Championship. Our own Darragh Treacy once again lined out in the middle of the field scoring a point during the seventy minutes while Liam Kennedy was among the substitutes. Best wishes to both lads and their fellow panel members this weekend it would be great to see a large Kieran’s contingent in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday afternoon to support the team as they go in pursuit of promotion.

County Senior Football League:
The senior footballers get their 2022 county league campaign underway this Friday night when they travel to Rhebogue (St. Patrick’s) to play the 2021 County Intermediate Football Champions Kildimo/Pallaskenry. The game throws in at 8.30. Our junior footballers also get their west league campaign underway this weekend when they make the short journey to our near neighbours Athea in the opening round. We will have further confirmation of this fixture in the coming days.
Limerick GAA Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake
The draw for the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial Stake took place this past week. Our nominated dog is Da Bold Freddie and will compete this Saturday night in Limerick Greyhound stadium in Heat 12. Hopefully it will put in a strong performance and advance to the following rounds. We would like to wish the very best to all concerned.
