County Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship Round 1:
Our Junior ‘A’ Hurlers get their County Championship campaign underway this Thursday evening when they make the journey to the Bog Garden, Rathkeale for their opening round encounter against fellow West Limerick side, Askeaton. Following on from an extremely successful 2021 campaign that saw us qualify for the County Final against Caherline we will be hoping to get off to a winning start against an Askeaton side that recently captured the West Junior ‘A’ League title overcoming Rathkeale in the final. Throughout the 2021 campaign several new players were introduced into the team and this trend has continued throughout the 2022 league campaign and alongside the return of several players from their travels abroad competition for places will no doubt be fierce. In 2022 we have been drawn in a very competitive group containing four sides who qualified for the County Quarter finals in 2021 with fellow West Limerick rival’s Feenagh/Kilmeedy, Doon, Ballybrown and Mungret / St. Pauls as well as our first-round opponents Askeaton. There have already been two games in the group this past weekend with Feenagh/Kilmeedy putting in an impressive performance to see off the challenge of Mungret / St. Pauls while Doon were equally impressive when overcoming Ballybrown in their opening round clash. Thursday’s game throws in at 7pm in the Bog Garden, tickets must be purchased online in advance as cash will not be accepted at the gate. Your support is greatly appreciated by all.
Junior ‘B’ Hurling:
The Junior ‘B’ Hurling side get their championship campaign underway this Friday night when they face off against Granagh/Ballingarry in the opening round of the West Championship. Drawn in a fiercely competitive group 1 alongside Adare, Newcastlewest and Kileedy it is a great opportunity for our younger players to obtain invaluable game time and push for contention on the Junior ‘A’ Side. Friday’s game throws in at 7.30 in Kileedy.
