We were edged out in a tight game versus Ballybricken/Bohermore on very wet evening in Martinstown last Saturday. The table after Round 1 Read as follows: Ballybricken/ Boheramore, Crecora/ Mainster and Templeglantine all are on 2 points and Dromcollogher/ Broadford, Staker Wallace, Blackrock all are on no points.
Jack Pierce of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the opening point of the game from a wide angle and then Ballybricken/ Boheramore scored the next three points of the game and with two of these points coming from Eoghan O’Neill and the other point came from Daniel McGuire from a free. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points with two of these points coming from Keith Lacey and the other point coming from Damien Burke to give us the lead by a point and then Ballybricken/ Bohermore scored the next two points, and these points came from Daniel McGuire and Micheál Martin to give term back the lead once again by a point. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points, and these points came from Keith Lacey and Kevin Noonan to put back in the lead by a point and then Daniel McGuire scored a goal for Ballybricken/ Bohermore with 23 minutes in the game to give them a lead of two points. Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored another pointed free to leave point between the sides at the break. To leave the score at half-time Ballybricken/ Bohermore 1-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-7.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first two points of the second half and these points came from Kevin Noonan and Derry McCarthy to give us a lead by a point and then Daniel McGuire of Ballybricken/ Bohermore and Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford exchanged pointed frees to leave a point between the sides once again. Daniel McGuire of Ballybricken/ Boheramore scored the next five points all coming from frees to put four points between the sides and then Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Micheál Martin of Ballybricken exchanged points to leave four points between the sides once again. Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored his second point of the game to leave three points between the sides and then Daniel McGuire of Ballybricken/Bohermore scored another point from a penalty to give them a win by four points on the night.
