SOUTH LIBERTIES GAA CLUB NOTES

CLUB LEAGUE 5th ROUND GAMES OF 2021
Last Saturday evening our Seniors were out against Cappamore in the East League.
Played in Cappamore, the half time score was Cappamore 1-08 to Liberties 0-08. By the second half water break we were 6 points down yet despite missing a lot of our players to injury, the boys fought back hard, got a goal and 2 points before the final whistle leaving us with a two-point deficit. Final score Cappamore 1-14 to South Liberties 1-12.
LIMERICKGAA
Hard Luck to the Limerick Footballers who fell to Cork last Saturday in the Senior Munster Semi Final. They had been playing some super football all year but just not good enough on the day to make it through to the Munster Final. With no back door system in football, that is
the end now for 2021.
Next weekend is Munster Hurling Final V Tipperary in Cork. We wish Barry Nash and all his County team mates and management the absolute best of luck and hope they can win this for the third year running.

CLUB MEMORIAL BENCHESAs the Club commences work on the new walking track, we are looking at some of the other facilities we are introducing as part of that development.
The contractor will lay bases for seating at intervals around the track and we are seeking interest from those who would be willing to sponsor one of these seats. Sponsors may wish to dedicate the seat to a person or family who is or has been connected with the club.
The seats cost €450 each. So please contact treasurer.southliberties.limerick@gaa.ie or any committee member if you are interested. We have had huge uptake so far with very few places left.
Underage.
Our underage members continue to enjoy playing games every week after being confined at home for so long. The U13 Hurlers had their first win against St. Patricks last Thursday and we had huge numbers at under 7 out last week playing Ahane.

In essence, adults and children over the age of 13 who are not displaying symptoms and who are designated as a close contact of a positive case DO NOT need to restrict their movements or be tested for Covid-19 if it is more than:
· 7 days after your 2nd Pfizer-BioNTech dose
· 14 days after your 2nd Moderna dose
· 14 days after the Janssen vaccine
· 15 days after your 2nd AstraZeneca dose
Notwithstanding the above, the advice of the HSE in each individual case should always be followed.

CONGRATULATIONS
The Club wish to send congratulations to Senior Hurler David O Neill and this wife Yvonne, who got married last Saturday. David has been a great man for Liberties both at senior level and contributing to coaching at underage level. He was greatly missed at our game V Cappamore last Saturday. We wish them both many years of happiness and health and hope David will be back in the Green and Gold jersey very soon.
