SOUTH LIBERTIES

Senior Hurlers
An historic occasion was witnessed by the Parish, in Kilmallock last Sunday, when our Senior Men overcame Patrickswell to reach the County Senior Semi Final bridging a 37 year gap, the last time being in 1985. We trailed by 3 points at the half time mark while Anthony Nash made a great save with Captain Eoghan Godfrey making sure, with a quick flick, that the ball didnt slide into the net. Brian Ryan was the only goal scorer of the game which finished 1-13 to 0-14. We now play Na Piarsaigh next Saturday in Kilmallock at 3.30 in the semi-final, a day on which a South Liberties Man, David Grimes, will marry Claire, a Na Piarsaigh woman. Good Luck and best wishes to everyone.
U15 Footballers
Our U15 boys withstood the rain in Mick Neville Park last Sunday morning when they contested their Divisional semi-final. They trailed by one point at half time but with a slight cross wind possibly favouring them, they went out all guns blazing and ended with a formidable win over Kildimo Pallaskenry on a scoreline of 4-06 to 0-10. Congratulations to players and mentors and best of luck in the County Final. Date, time and venue will be on our social media as soon as we know.
Scór Luimní
Well done to our Scór team who came a very credible second place in the Limerick County Trath na gCeist Final last week. The team of John Cooney, Michael O Brien, Noel Hartigan and Eddie Noonan were just 2 questions short of the winners. Well done Men.
Birthday Celebrations
Congratulations to Mikey Keane who celebrated his 40th birthday last week and is still donning the green and gold of South Liberties at Senior Level. His team mates had cake awaiting him at their training session in Dooley Park last Friday night. Wishing you many more years of celebrations Mikey.
Happy Birthday also to our club man and Limerick Bord Na N-og treasurer Denis Carroll.
Parish Lotto
There was no winner of last week’s lotto but congratulations to Bríd Kennedy who was a lucky dip winner. Bríd works very hard to promote the draw each week. Dont forget to purchase your ticket in all local public premises or online on our website.

Condolences
Sincere condolences to the Sheehan and extended family of the recent death of John. John was an extremely popular member of our communities and a pure gentleman. He is fondly remembered by so many. He was a founding member of the Parish Lotto and hugely involved in the Parish Newsletter. Go ndéana Dia Ort.
