Our Junior B hurlers completed the group phase of the East Championship last Thursday evening and made it three wins from three when defeating a game Pallasgreen side. The opening minutes were cagey enough with both sides trading early points but by the 10th minute we had raced into a 5 points to 1 lead, a lead which we held for the remainder of the game. We continued where we left off after the break with further points from Darragh Godfrey and Jack Fitzpatrick increasing our lead. Our annual Legends Classic was held at Ballyneety Golf Club last Friday and was a tremendous success. The weather held well for us and everyone was in great form. Our winners on the day were Flor Mc Carthy, Ciara Mc Carthy, Liam Walsh and Clem Hehir. Our MC was Marty Morrissey and his panel of Johnny Looby, Pete Finnerty, John Horan, Joe Quaid and Paul O Connell. Many thanks to the GAA President Larry Mc Carthy for joining us. Henry Shefflin played his round of golf with Noreen Mc Manus. Ogie Moran brought up the Sam Maguire Cup and it was photographed on the 10th green with the Liam Mc Carthy. Our own club Legend Mr. Paddy Shanahan made a presentation on behalf of South Liberties to Billy Lee acknowledging his dedication, hard work and success as manager of the Limerick Footballers. Huge thanks as always to all our sponsors and supporters especially the South Court Hotel, STL and BDO. Well done to John Leamy and his team for another wonderful occassion this year. Have a look at some great photos on our Social Media sites.
