Results from last week’s Fixtures

South Junior B Hurling Championship Camogue Rovers 2-13 Garryspillane 3-15, Bruff 1-15 Bruree 2-24, Garryspillane were given a walkover by Croom who were unable to field a team. This has resulted in the top three teams being level on points (6 points each). The scoring difference cannot be considered as a walkover was given. Clubs have agreed to a draw taking place for 1,2,3 placings which will decided who play’s Glenroe and Dromin Athlacca in the Quarter Finals of the competition and which team will go straight through to the Semi Final. At the time of going to print this draw had not taken place. Quarter Finals are fixed for Tuesday 2nd September. Times and Venues TBC.

South Minor Hurling Championship Dromin Athlacca 1-9 Glenroe 5-14, Croom 1-11 Cois Laoi Gaels 2-17, Kilacolla Gaels 4-13 Blackrock 4-14, Blackrock 3-14 Cois Laoi Gaels 1-15 & Kilacolla Gaels have given a walkover to Bruff. There is one game to be played in Group 1 Bruff V Croom and this is fixed for Friday next 30th August at 6.45pm in Bruff. In Group 2, Kilmallock have only played one round when they were defeated by Dromin Athlacca. They still need to play Cnoc Dubh Gaels and Glenroe. The Kilmallock V Glenroe game is fixed for Friday evening next 30th August at 6.45pm in Glenroe and V Cnoc Dubh Gaels on Monday 2nd September in Knockainey.

South Junior B Football Championship Camogue Rovers 2-6 Banogue 4-11. Galbally received a walkover from Castletown Ballyagran who have withdrawn from competition. Banogue have 2 games to play in this competition, these fixtures are V Galtee Gaels on Monday 2nd September at 6.30pm in Knocklong and V Galbally on Thursday 5th September in Kilbreedy at 6.30pm.

South Minor Football Championship Kilacolla Gaels have given walkover to Croom & Banogue have given a walkover to Bruff. The final round remains to be played in the Minor Football Championship where the top 2 teams will play in the A Final and the remaining teams will play in the B Semi Finals 3rd V 6th and 4th V 5th. The final round will be played on Saturday 31st August.

The West Junior A Hurling Championship quarter finals were played last weekend where we saw Kilmallock defeat Monagea 4-18 to 1-12 and Croagh Kilfinny defeat Feenagh Kilmeedy 0-20 to 0-19. This is a great result for the South Division as we now have 2 teams taking part in the West Junior A Hurling Championship Semi Finals. Castletown Ballyagran take on Croagh Kilfinny in Feenagh on Saturday 31st August at 6.30pm and Kilmallock take on Kileedy in Dromcollogher on Sunday 1st September at 6.30pm. We wish both teams the very best of luck in their respective games.
