SOUTH GAA NOTES
BUSY WEEKEND FOR LIMERICK SENIOR TEAMS :
A very busy weekend ahead for Limerick with games in Allianz League Football and Munster Hurling championship.
On this Saturday 24th. October there are two football games on the fixture list, the Senior Football team make the long journey to Markievicz Park in Sligo to play the home side in Allianz Football League Round 7 game at 2pm, the prize on offer is different for both sides, a win for the visitors would ensure promotion to Division Three 3 for 2021, while a win for the home side could give them a place in contention for promotion depending on other results
On Sunday 25th. October, Limerick Senior Hurlers go out in defence of two titles when they play Clare in Semple Stadium Thurles with a 3.45pm throw (Live on RTE 2) The game is a Quarter Final game in the Munster Hurling Championship and also Allianz Hurling League Final. A very interesting game is in prospect in what is a local derby, let’s hope Limerick will be victors and march on to a Munster Semi Final with Tipperary in Pairc Ui Caoimh on Sunday 1st. November
Hard Luck to both Limerick Senior Footballers who lost out to Wexford in Round 6 Allianz Football League on Sunday last in Mick Neville park, and to the Senior Camogie team who lost to Westmeath in the opening Round of the Liberty Insurance Senior Camogie Championship played in Bruff on Saturday last by 1.12 to 0.12
Best of Luck is extended to all Teams and Managements in action and especially to players from the South Division, Best of Luck is also extended to Limerick Ladies Football Team and Management who travel toplay Derry in the opening Round of the All Ireland Junior Championship to be played in Lannleire Dunleer, County Louth and Limerick Senior Camogie team who play Waterford on this Sunday 25th. October in the Liberty Insurance Senior Championship Round Two in Walsh Park Waterford
