RATHKEALE GAA CLUB NOTES

Footballers kick off with a Championship Win!

Our Intermediate footballers commenced their 2019 Championship campaign with a good win over Athea last Saturday in Askeaton. Rathkeale ran out comfortable winners in the end, with Athea reduced to 13 men with both men being sent off for two bookable offenses. The final score on the day was Rathkeale 1-13, Athea 0-04. Round 2 is scheduled for next weekend, Saturday, April 6th when we play Bruff in Claughaun at 6pm. Bruff will be looking to put some points on the board after losing their opening round game against Claughaun. Please refer to our social pages on Facebook & Twitter for updates next weekend.

after beating Adare last Wednesday night in Mick Neville. This was a very exciting game of hurling with Croagh\Kilfinny\Rathkeale running out worthy winners on scoreline of 1-16 to 1-10.

Club Membership 2019

Club membership for the 2019 season is now due. You can also register using the official GAA app and have been notified regarding the same in the last week. Rates for the upcoming season are as follows: Adult €50, Under-18 €20 and a family rate of €70. The rate for non-playing adult members will remain at €30. This represents good value in comparison to membership costs in other clubs across the county. All players must pay their membership prior to taking part in any games or training. This will be strictly enforced this year so make sure you contact Philip O’Donnell, who is the club registrar again for 2019, before training commences. We are taking this matter very serious this year and you simply won’t play if you haven’t paid, players are also going to ensure that their fellow players have paid so no excuses.

Club Limerick Draw – Deadline Fast Approaching

The deadline for the 2019 Club Limerick Draw is April 5th when we hope to have all our members signed up with the first draw taking place on Saturday, April 27th. Membership remains at €100 which gives you the opportunity to win fantastic cash prizes over 10 monthly draws! If you’re not in, you can’t win, just ask any one of our 39 winners over the last 40 draws!
