RATHKEALE GAA CLUB NOTES

Junior A Hurlers
Our Junior A Hurlers, bowed out of the 2021 Championship on a positive note with a well-earned win over Claughaun last Saturday evening in Bruff. Coming off a loss against Killeedy on the previous week, our lads knew that a big performance was required to overturn Claughaun. Rathkeale lead at the half time interval by 4 points, with the scoreline reading 1-09 to 1-05. It was a tighter affair in the second half, with Claughaun battling back into the game. However, a goal in the dying seconds from Jimmy Dillane, was enough to fire Rathkeale to a hard fought victory on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-15. Overall, a good season, no silver however there were plenty of positives with a young eager squad, who enjoyed a decent League & Championship season. Well done to both the players and management team involved.
