RATHKEALE

Intermediate Footballers
Our intermediate footballers currently reside in 4th position of the Group 2 Griffins Coaches Intermediate Championship. After a slow start against Gerald Griffins, the team bounced back well with two good wins against Drom\Broadford and Pallasgreen respectively.
In round 4 we unfortunately came up short against the current table toppers Mungret St Pauls. After matching them for the first side, we ended up losing out on a score line of 0-12 to 4-09.
It is still all to play for when we play Fr Casey’s in the final group stage fixture. A win is a must, hopefully we will have a good turnout for the game which is fixed for Sunday, September 25th with a throw in time of 1.00pm in Newcastle West. Best of luck to all involved.
Junior A Hurling
Our Junior A Hurlers have some work to do if we are to progress into the knock out stages of the Woodlands House Hotel County Junior A Championship after two defeats in the opening rounds.
In the opening round we lost out to Tournafulla on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-12, this was followed up with a comprehensive defeat to Old Christians in round 2.
We received a walkover from Garryspillane while the team now await Kilteely Dromkeen in round 4, which is scheduled for Kilbreedy, this Thursday evening, September 8th with a thrown in time of 6.00pm. Best of luck to the players and management.
