The hosts scored the opening point, but Patrickswell raced into the lead with points from Jonathan McMahon (0-2) and Cian Enright. Monaleen replied with two fresh points to equalise at 0-3 apiece. Patrickswell began the second half strongly and went 0-9 to 0-5 ahead when Cian Enright and Darragh Ahern took their points.
