PALLASGREEN GAA CLUB NOTES.

CO INERMEDIATE HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP: The intermediate hurlers bowed out of the championship at the quarter final stage last Sunday against Bruree in Kilfinane. A late change in venue and showery weather plus trying underfoot conditions added to the misery for the hurlers in their loss to Bruree. Bruree got off to the better start with a four point lead but Pallas reeled back the score and the scores were level 0-5 each at the first water break. Conditions were going to play a factor in the game as scores were always going to hard earned. The scoreline at the break was 0-7 to 0-8 in favour of the southern side. The resumption Pallas forged ahead by two points but again Bruree came back and the scores were level 0-10 to 0-10 at the second water break. It was here that Bruree came out on top and racked up a goal and three points to seal the outcome. Pallas tried to come back and a goal from Colin Ryan was in vain as Bruree sealed their spot in the semi final by 1-16 to 1-10. Team; T McMahon, A Moloney, D Fanning, P Franklin, P O’Dwyer, L O’Dwyer, Ciaran Ryan, K O’Donnell (0-1), T Franklin, R O’Donnell, B Fanning (0-1), K Barry (0-1), O Roche, Colin Ryan (1-6), S Mulcahy (0-1). Subs; C McMahon, P Roche, C O’Dwyer.
U17 HURLING: The U17 hurlers were gallant losers in their Division 2 quarter final against Kileedy/Tournafulla played in Knockane last Sunday Morning. Having led at the break by 1-6 to 0-5 they looked comfortable throughout. The westerners kept plugging away at the Pallas rearguard and a goal with 10 minutes left had the game sharing the spoils 1-11 each. The goal seemed to knock the stuffing out of the team and Tournafulla/Kileedy added two more goals to win by 3-10 to 1-11.
