U14 GIRL TEAMS WIN COUNTY FOOTBALL FINAL: The last week was a significant week in the underage football when both the Blue team and the Yellow team won their respective county finals away from home. Both games were high scoring encounters with little separating the sides at the finish. The Yellow team travelled to Ballysteen to take on Gerald Griffins and won by 5-8 to 6-2. The Blue team made the journey to Ahane last week to face the home side. On a miserable night they came away winners after a thriller by 5-6 to 5-8. SENIOR LADIES FOOTBALL: The senior ladies team put in a brave performance last Sunday morning against St Ailbes in Caherelly in the first round of the championship but had to settle for a 2-13 to 1-8 defeat.
JUNIOR B HURLING: The junior B hurlers and Doon played out an exciting draw in Pallas last week. A game that saw Doon come from behind in the closing stages to look likely winners but a late point from a free by Liam ODea secured a draw on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-20.
