U13 HURLERS WIN COUNTY FINAL: There was joyous scenes in Mick Neville Park Rathkeale last Saturday Morning when the U13 hurlers won the Division 3 final in comprehensive style defeating Blackrock 1-14 to 1-4. On a bright October morning Pallas played against a stiff breeze and controlled the game early with points from Noah Deere and Daire Long. Blackrock came into the game with a number of points but Pallas who looked strong going forward raced into a 0-9 to 0-3 lead facing the half time whistle. A but long range free by Blackrock ended up in the Pallas net to give them a lifeline and leave the scores at the break Pallas 0-9 Blackrock 1-4. The second period of the game Pallas came out sharper and looked in control and in a game that they never relinguished their quest for glory. With the breeze in their backs this well drilled team hurled with great confidence and when Daire Long goaled with seven minutes left, the game was done and dusted. In a fine team performance Pallas ran out winners by 1-14 to 1-4. U17 FOOTBALL: The U17 footballers recorded a fine win over Ahane last week in Pallas. In this round 5 of the Mr Binman Div 2 championship the boys turned on the style in the second half. Only a point separating the sides at half time 0-5 to 1-1 Pallas outplayed their opponents by 4-4 to 0-2 to win by 4-9 to 1-3.
