NEWCASTLEWEST GAA CLUB NOTES

Return to Training

This week sees the long-awaited return to training for our juvenile teams following an extended winter break. Newcastle West GAA would like to thank everyone for their continued compliance with the government guidelines to ensure our return to under-age training is finally here. Ever since it was announced at the end of March, that non-contact underage training in pods of 15 is permitted from April 26th, club officers and coaches have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the safe return to on-field activity. New players of all ages and all levels are welcome. A reminder to parents to carefully read and adhere to the training guidelines sent out by coaches and to fill out the Health Questionnaire on foireann.ie before every training session. Hopefully it won’t be long before we see our Adult teams back training.

Membership

In line with return to play protocol and covid tracing, only players and mentors who have paid their membership will be allowed to participate in training. This applies to all age groups. Please renew membership on https://www.foireann.ie the new GAA registration platform. Foireann is an updated version of the returntoplay.ie site we used last year. The same username/password will work on Foireann. For more info on Membership and Foireann please visit the club website NCWGAA.com

Primary Schools Coaching

This ongoing and help is always needed, so if you have an hour or so to spare and love the football and hurling, opportunity knocks! If you are interested, please contact childrensofficer.newcastlewest.limerick@gaa.ie for further details.

Spare Gear

If there are hurleys and helmets which are no longer needed they’d be very welcome by those coaching younger age groups in the club and schools. Just drop them to any training session or committee member and they will be added to stock and be available to the learners especially in schools where young players who are introduced to GAA may not have their own gear. Many of those who are introduced to the game in schools do not join the club!

CLUB LIMERICK DRAW

Congratulations to Austin Geraghty who won the 2nd prize of €3,000 and dual adult player Eoin Hurley who won €100 in the Club Limerick April Draw! To be in with a chance of winning some amazing prizes and supporting your club please renew or update your membership online https://clublimerick.ie
