U13 Panel Update
The U13 panel returned to the field last week after a short break with so many players away on holidays. Either side of the break we experienced the highs and lows that competitive action throws at us. We broke up on a highs finishing second in our group with an outstanding away win (St Senans 1-3 to NCW 5-5 ) in Foynes. NCW played attacking football from the off with scores coming from Declan O’Grady, Cillian Shanahan, Mark Cussen. Rory Vaughan, Tristan Kirwan, Jack Horgan, Sean Fitzgerald, Kian O’Keeffe and Tiernan Horgan To their credit St Senans never gave up and took some fine scores. The NCW defence, though seldom troubled, held firm to win back possession time and time again to setup their forwards with scoring chances. We’ll progress now to the Championship Semi-Final with fixtures out towards the end of the month. We returned to training last week to prepare for our U13 Division 2 playoff with Glenroe. A playoff was required as there was a walkover in the group and both teams finishing level on points. There was a reasonable level of confidence going into the match as our group match in June finished in a
draw. As the referee blew the fulltime whistle last Saturday there was no doubt at all who the better team were with Glenroe scoring 5-9 to 0-3. The result will no doubt hurt for a while but we all know that the u13 panel is a great bunch of lads who are far far better than how we played. A line is drawn under that with players and mentors promising to train harder and come back stronger than ever. We’ll hopefully have the Division 2 Shield competition n a few weeks to to get back to the form we showed in July.
U13 Panel: Aaron Mullenger, Charlie Moore, Cillian Shanahan, Darragh Liston, Darragh O’Keeffe, Declan O’Grady, Diarmuid Cremin, Evan Crowley, Jack Horgan, James Douglas Normoyle, Josh Glasper, Kian O’Keeffe, Ksawier Bochnak, Leon O’Flynn, Luke Scanlon, Mark Cussen, Matthew Walshe, Mark Healy, Max Normoyle, Rory Vaughan, Sean Fitzgerald, Shay Collins, Thomas Hanley, Tiernan Horgan, Tristan Kirwan

Primary Schools Coaching
This ongoing and help is always needed, so if you have an hour or so to spare and love the football and hurling, opportunity knocks! If you are interested, please contact childrensofficer.newcastlewest.limerick@gaa.ie for further details.
Spare Gear
If you have any small hurleys and helmets which are no longer needed they’d be very welcome by those coaching younger age groups in the club and schools. Just drop them to any training session or committee member and they will be added to stock and be available to the learners especially in schools where young players who are introduced to GAA may not have their own gear. Many of those who are introduced to the game in schools do not join the club!
