Newcastle West 0-11
Our footballers were out in action last Saturday evening against Ballysteen.
Whilst NCW were playing against a very strong breeze in the first half, Ballysteen played very defensively which led to a low scoring first half overall. Michael Quilligan got lobbed for a goal after a turnover before half- time which saw Ballysteen ahead 1-03 to 0-03. A much better second half for Newcastle West saw us win comfortably in the end. Eoin Hurley scored good frees from range with Niall McAuliffe, Brian O’Sullivan, Conor Walker having good games also. Ross Donavon, as full forward won two scored frees in the first half and played very well overall.

WEST LIMERICK JUNIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE RESULT
Newcastle West 3-9
St. Kieran’s 0-7
Newcastle West got their junior football league campaign off to a winning start on Sunday evening at home. Our opponents on the night were St Kierans and we opened strongly in the first half with goals coming from Ross Donovan (15 mins) and Ben Finnegan (22 mins). Our forwards kept the scoreboard ticking over with some well executed points all from play notably three points coming from the boot of Ben Finnegan. Half-time score 2-6 to 0-0 with our full back and half back line fully dominant over the half hour. The second half was a different affair as our fitness levels dropped and St Kierans upped their game, but we continued to hold our lead with great play from Sean Geraghty and Aaron Mullane. Both were involved in a passing movement with Ciaran Alquadi at the end finishing calmly to the net with a well taken goal on 48 mins. Oisin Collins on his debut at adult level finished the scoring with a well taken point to leave Newcastle West the winning side.
