County U16 Division 2 Camogie League Final
Na Piarsaigh 5-4, Ahane 2-9

Na Piarsaigh captured the county U16 league title following a major battle with Ahane in Rathbane last Thursday evening.
Playing against a stiff breeze, the Na Piarsaigh girls were starved of possession in the first half and found themselves 3-4 points in arrears before a free from midfield by ace player Áine Ó’Tiarnaigh went all the way to the net. Another goal against the run of play before half time saw us in arrears only by two points 1-5 to 2-0 which, given the breeze seemed surmountable.
On the resumption, possession was much easier and our forwards got plenty of quality ball. Further goals by Áine O’Tiarnaigh, Lizzie Boylan and Niamh Skehan helped propel us to glory.

Team: Ciara Grant, Rebecca Gilvarry, Laura Ahern, Orna O’neill, Grace Palmer, Sarah Murray, Orla Hickey, Aine Ó’Tiarnaigh (3-3, 1-3 frees), Liz Anna Boylan, Hannah Kehoe, Eva Long, Niamh Skehan (1-1), SarahStanley, Ashling Fahy, Sarah O’Keeffe. Subs used: Mikaka Hickey Quaid, Robyn Conlon.

SENIOR HURLERS

Our senior hurlers were back in action on Saturday night when they welcomed Doon to Pairc Dromguil
A glorious sunny evening for hurling where a very young side was selected to play.
It was good to see some of the younger lads getting a run out and no doubt gain from the experience, mixed in with regulars .
A good first half saw us outscore the opposition 16 points to 10 with points coming from the lively Will Henn along with newly married man Kevin Ryan who showed no ill effects from the honeymoon chipping in with 3 excellent points from play.
The second half continued in similar vein with points from Will Henn, Pat Gleeson and 2 from the 3rd Dempsey brother Keith when introduced as a sub.
We did raise a green flag from the stick of evergreen Brian Hartnett to seal what was a good team performance.
Team for the record was Podge Kennedy, Conor Richardson, Conor Houlihan, Pauric Heaney, Gearoid Synnott(0-1), Cathall King, Mike Foley(0-1), Evan Gilvarry, Brian Hartnett(1-0), Alan Dempse(0-1), Pat Gleeson(0-4)- James Daly, Kevin Ryan(0-3), David Sheppard(0-2), Will Henn(0-11,6f)
Subs used Keith Dempsey(0-2), Evan Condon, Aidan Hennessy.
Final score Na Piarsaigh 1-25 Doon 0-13.
