BALLYBRICKEN/BOHERMORE GAA CLUB NOTES

Junior Hurling: Ballybricken-Bohermore got a fourth victory in the East league beating Doon 4-14 to 1-16 in Caherelly last week. Played in perfect conditions for hurling we were fast out of the blocks with an early Conor McCarthy goal helping us to establish an early lead. We continued on top and further goals from Dan Owens had us leading at the break 3-8 to 1-5. Our opponents rallied in the early stages of the second but after a brief shemozzle we got on top again and outscored our opponents 1-5 to 0-2 in the final quarter with Dan Owens getting another goal. Junior Football: Our junior footballers continued their bad run off form with a loss to Knockane by 3-07 to 1-09 last Wednesday night, played in Knockane we got off to the worse possible start conceding a goal after 2 mins, we replied well and a Colm Teefy goal brought us level and we pushed on to lead at half-time by 2 points. That was as good as it got for Bally as Knockane took control with a slight wind at their backs they got two decisive goals which we could not claw back in the second period.
