AGM
We were delighted to see a fantastic attendance at the club AGM on
Thursday 12 December 2019 in the clubhouse.
The night started with Brian O’Halloran giving an update on the grant
the club had just received from the Munster GAA council and a run down
on the development of the pitches, this was followed by a minute
silence in recognition of all who have gone before us during the year.
Brian O’Halloran then ran through all the reports from each club
section, Senior, Juvenile, camogie, ladies Football, PRO, Facilities,
Fundraising, Irish Officer, Childrens officer, Healthy Club and
Brian’s own report. Rob Donnell then took the stage for the treasurers
report.
Mike O’Connell gave a great speech as he thanked all who worked with
him during his tenure. There were 2 motions put to the floor- position
of club Vice President goes to a 3 year term, with a majority vote the
motion was carried. The second motion was that each sub committee
provides a written report to every quarterly open meeting, this was
unanimous as it was passed also.
John Moriarity was elected as Vice President and was unfortunately
informed he had to continue his great work in the club while holding
his new title. A new chairman was elected and welcomed to take the
floor which meant moving seat as Brian O’Halloran stood up to take on
the role. Donal Duff was next in line to be elected as Secretary and
took centre stage beside the newly elected treasurer, James Ryan. Our
PRO resided in her sitting position as Wanda Dwane was reelected. An
assistant secretary and assistant treasurer are being looked for, if
you would like to take up this role please contact the secretary.
Our Irish Officer was reelected with a joint partner for the coming
year as the gaeilgeoir; Breándain O’hAnnaidh was delighted to help
out. The county board delegate, Raymond Dowling and the city board
delegate, James O’Doherty stayed on board and Maurice Walsh as elected
as the football officer. A registrar and purchasing officers position
were left vacant with hopes to fill these positions soon..
In AOB in relation to the bar committee that each section in the club
(Senior, Juvenile, Ladies Football and Camogie) put a team of members
in place to help the running of the bar.
Pitch co-coordinators Bosco Ryan and Seamus Hayes were signed back up
again for 2020.
Brian O’Halloran signed off the night with the hope that the club
would stay growing in strength, with the members getting involved in
the running of the club in the coming years.
Thank you to everyone who attended on the night and we would like to
remind you all that there are positions to be filled, if you would
like to take a more active role in the club please contact the club
secretary on secretary.mungret.limerick@gaa.ie our new Chair man can
