U-21 PREMIER HURLING
Mungret St. Pauls 0-18 Patrickswell1-14
Under lights on Tuesday 9 November 2021 in Rhebogue our U-21 Hurlers played Patrickswell in the second round of the championship. Patrickswell had the better start but once Mungret St. Pauls got into the game they kept their scores going and took the lead.
Patrickswell had a three point lead built up before Mungret St. Pauls scored from a free, both sides exchanged points before the water break. Back out Mungret St. Pauls got stuck into the game and took most of the scores in this quarter as they took over the lead, scoring seven points to two of Patrickswells. Mungret St. Pauls went in with a three point lead 0-12 to 0-9, all but two of Mungret St. Pauls points coming from frees.
A point to each side from frees before Patrickswell levelled the game when a sideline struck across the goal was shot into the back of the net. Mungret St. Pauls regained the lead with another two frees, Patrickswell pointed from play before the second water break. Patrickswell came out strong, pointing 3 balls and took the lead back again for a few minutes until Mungret St. Pauls pointed their own three balls to win the game by the minimal score. A great game from both sides, with a majority of our scores coming from frees.
