U15 FOOTBALLERS: Well done to Monaleen side who won the U15 Division 3 Championship final with an impressive 2-13 to 3-4 victory over Hospital-Herbertstown at Mick Neville Park in Rathkeale on Monday night. Congratulations to the players and management team.

GAA CLUB REGISTRATION: It’s that time of year again when we begin to ask parents to pay their child’s membership. However, with the move to Foireann as the main GAA system, we will be synchronising the juvenile and adult registration to one single calendar year system, as per GAA requirements.

Therefore we will not be requesting you to pay for your children until nearer the end of this year, and then annually every December in advance of the next calendar year. If you paid in September 2020 your child is covered to play and train until the end of this year. New age groups which start in September this year will not have to pay until December. We will let you know as soon as registration opens. Thank you for your co-operation, Caroline, Keenan, Paul, Audrey.

LOTTO: The latest Lotto draw took place on Thursday, October 14 with the jackpot standing at €3,600. The numbers drawn were 3, 4, 13 and 27. Winners of the €50 lucky dips were R Connelly, Cherryfield; N Kitson, O.S.R; R Haugh, Lisnagry. Thank you for your continued support.

CAMOGIE

INTERMEDIATE CHAMPIONSHIP: Well done to our Intermediate team on securing a place in the County Semi Final in two weeks’ time after a good win away to Croagh Kilfinny on Sunday 17th.

Strong start from Croagh with 3 goals in the first quarter gave them a 5 point lead at the first water break. Monaleen worked hard for the second quarter and reduced the deficit to 2 points at half time.

Aine Doyle hit the back of the net from the penalty spot 8 minutes into the 2nd half, just before Croagh hit home for their 4th goal two minutes later.

With the sides level at the 2nd water break, it was all to play for in the final quarter. Monaleen took control of the final quarter and sealed the victory with a goal and point from play from Ella Hession.

Final score Monaleen 2-14 Croagh Kilfinny 4-04.

Kilmallock showed their strength in the 3rd quarter of the game taking a 10 point lead into the final quarter.

Some lovely camogie from Monaleen in the final quarter with Monaleen outscoring Kilmallock 1-03 to a point. Great to see this team continue to battle and contest every ball. U15 BLITZ: Our U15 Camogie team played an Intercounty blitz on Saturday mornin in Boher. The Monaleen girls got the chance to play St Rynagh’s from Offaly , Feakle Killanena from Clare & Na Piarsaigh from Limerick on the day so it was great to be part of the blitz & play teams from other counties. Despite being without a good number of our players through injury & other events it was an ideal opportunity to try players in different positions & to give some of our younger girls a couple of games aswell. There was some really positive displays overall & some well taken scores over the course of the 3 games. Thanks to Crusheen Camogie for organising & inviting us to take part. Squad: Aoife O’Brien, Caoimhe McInerney, Ciara Buckley, Ella O’Halloran, Ellen Hosey, Ellie Madden, Faye Coffey, Kate O’Connor, Laurie Murnane, Niamh Twomey, Olivia Foley, Saoirse Fallon, Carrie McCormack, Emma McGrath, Emma O’Leary, Millie Reen, Molly Morrissey.

U13 UPDATE: Our U13 team headed at Ahane on Sunday afternoon for a challenge match. In a very evenly matched game which ended in a draw, there was some good battling and some lovely scores and team work.

U10 UPDATE: Our U10 team headed to Na Piarsaigh on Sunday. With high numbers on both teams this enabled 3 teams to play multiple matches. A really good display from all of the players in probably their last game of the season.

U9 UPDATE: Well done to our U9 team on Saturday who played away to Doon. Great to see so many matches for this group continually developing their skills.
