Minor Hurling at All Ireland level was started in 1928 and winners received The Irish Press Cup.
WEST U12 HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP 1979
In 1979 Knockaderry had the honour of playing neighbours Granagh/Ballingarry in the first ever U12 West Hurling Championship. The game was played under very wet conditions winning narrowly against them. The team was captained by Robert Hartigan, Declan Danaher, Micheal O Connor, Micheal Enright, David Meehan, Brendan Curtin, Seamus Danaher, Donie Copse, Mike Greaney, Brendan Danaher, Liam O Gorman, George
Manger, Gerard Copse, Alan Mc Coy, John O Connor, Pat Falavin, Micheal Meehan and Kieran O Connor.
SAFE RETURN TO GAELIC GAMES
Find below an account of guidelines on our safe return to Gaelic Games which were announced on Phase 2. Further details can be found on the GAA website by using the link below.
The GAA, An Cumann Camogaíochta and the LGFA have published a plan for a safe return to Gaelic games for the three organisations.
The plan is the work of a specially appointed Advisory Committee, which included representatives of all three bodies, the GPA and a number of medical experts.
It offers a route back to activity, subject to the government timelines being achieved in the weeks and months ahead.
It is broken down into sections covering Medical Advice; Preparing for a Safe Return; Information for Players and Team Personnel; Summary and Checklist; Roadmap for Return to Activity
Some of the stand-out elements of the report include:
· From 29 June –
o GAA pitches open.
o Each team to have a Covid Supervisor
o Non contact training in groups of 10 (2 coaches)
o Access to dressing rooms not permitted
· From 20th July
o Full training permitted
o Competitions can start from 31st July
o Access to dressing rooms not permitted
o Health Questionnaires to be completed by players / coaches etc
· From 10th August.
o Dressing rooms can be used with strict cleaning to be carried out.
· Competitions to take place
· 31 July to 11 October
· Envisaged inter county training to commence 15 September
· Inter county competitions to start no sooner than 17 October.

LOTTO RESUMES ON JULY 2nd!
After a long 3 and a half months of no Club Lotto we are pleased to announce that we will be holding the first post lockdown Lotto on Thursday July 2nd. The finer details will be finalised nearer the time. Thank you for your continued support over the last few months. On the night there will be a special draw for those weekly Direct Debit members and fully paid members. If interested please contact Sean Condon on 087-9332878 for details.

The next Clouncagh/Knockaderry parish draw will take place on Thursday July 2nd. If interested please contact any committee member of the GAA, Ahalin Parents Assocation, Camogie Club or Community Council
GAA PITCH AND FACILITIES CLOSED
Take note that the Knockaderry GAA pitch is still closed to the public as public liability insurance is suspended. Also please no tampering with Club facilities and equipment within the field grounds. Please adhere and respect the sign erected on the gate.
