KILDIMO/PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES
CLUB DEVELOPMENT: Over the past number of weeks, a Development Plan brochure has been dropped to every house in the community, reaching out for assistance to help the club fund our development project and bring it to life. Our plans include a 25m Training Wall, complete with a 675m2 enclosed Astroturf Training Area, floodlighting and secure perimeter fencing. This will provide our club members with an all-year-round much-needed all-weather training facility which will help develop the skills in hurling, camogie and Gaelic football from our most junior to our adult teams as well as allowing our non-playing members an area to exercise.
In addition, we are launching a Go Fund Me page (link below), which will allow our club members, community and patrons far and wide to straight away support this project and our goals of getting it started in 2021. Within this you will also find a link to our Club Development Plan Brochure. Our Go Fund Me Page is only for persons who wish to avail of Option 4 on the brochure in way of support: https://www.gofundme.com/…/training-facilities…
COBI SPORTS CLUB SHOP: Cobi Sports have opened a Kildimo/Pallaskenry club shop until 4 July for those who wish to buy branded club gear. These orders must be placed online through the Cobi website: https://www.cobisports.com/kildimopallaskenry-gaa and will be delivered within five weeks.
LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: Congratulations to Peter Nash and Tony McCarthy who were part of the Limerick senior football side who defeated Waterford on a 4-18 to 0-12 scoreline in the first round of the Munster Football Championship. They now face into a Munster semi-final against Cork in two weeks’ time.
LIMERICK SENIOR FOOTBALLERS: Best of luck to Kyle Hayes, Darren O’Connell and the Limerick senior hurlers who are out in Championship action this coming Saturday against Cork at 7pm.
U-7 HURLING: Our U-7 hurlers welcomed Claughaun to Pallaskenry for a number of games in their first outing of the season. Some great hurling on display from the youngsters; well done to all involved!
U-8 CAMOGIE: Our Mervyn Kearney Agri-sponsored U-8 camogie team had their first game of the season in Ballybrown at the weekend. In glorious sunshine, we had two teams travel to our neighbours, both playing two games each. There was no shortage of talent on display, and we look forward to see these players develop in the coming years. Well done to all the girls and many thanks to all the parents who supported them throughout. Next up is Ahane next Saturday morning.
U-9 FOOTBALL: Our U-9s had 28 players togged out as they welcomed Claughaun to Pallaskenry for an evening of football. Again, some seriously competitive games between the two sides and some fine football on show. Well done to all involved!
U-10 CAMOGIE: Our Mervy Kearney Agri-sponsored U-10 camogie team also had their opening game of the season in Doon during the week. The weather may have not been
spectacular but the performances surely were. We had 20 girls togged out, played two games with the teams evenly matched in both encounters. Well done to all the girls and coaches!
U-11 FOOTBALL: Our U-11 footballers welcomed St. Patrick’s to Kildimo for a game during the week. A great game from both sides, with the boys from Rhebogue just coming out on top in the end.
WEST SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Kildimo/Pallaskenry 1-4 Gerald Griffins 4-10. An injury-stricken Pallas Plastering/Chill the Beans-sponsored football side headed to Ballyhahill on Tuesday evening to take on last year’s beaten Intermediate county finalists, Gerald Griffins. We put in a hard-working performance, but a goal conceded in the first half saw momentum go the way of our opponents who pressured us into kicking a number of wides. We kept fighting to the bitter end, despite being missing a number of players with Conor Staff kicking a couple of great points and Darren Lane snatching a late goal. St. Senan’s are up next in Pallaskenry on Tuesday night.
Team: Jamie Hickey; Eoin Sheahan, Barry Walsh, Mossy Sheehan; Brian Howard, Keel Moloney, Liam O’Sullivan; Pa Staff, Jack Mullane; Naoise McGarrigle, Conor Staff (0-3, 0-1 free), Luke Guinane; Ciaran Galvin, Kieran Bourke, Dylan Corrigan (0-1, free)
