KILDIMO PALLASKENRY GAA CLUB NOTES

CLUB DEVELOPMENT: Over the past number of weeks, a Development Plan brochure has been dropped to every house in the community, reaching out for assistance to help the club fund our development project and bring it to life. Our plans include a 25m Training Wall, complete with a 675m2 enclosed Astroturf Training Area, floodlighting and secure perimeter fencing. This will provide our club members with an all-year-round much-needed all-weather training facility which will help develop the skills in hurling, camogie and Gaelic football from our most junior to our adult teams as well as allowing our non-playing members an area to exercise.
In addition, we are launching a Go Fund Me page (link below), which will allow our club members, community and patrons far and wide to straight away support this project and our goals of getting it started in 2021. Within this you will also find a link to our Club Development Plan Brochure. Our Go Fund Me Page is only for persons who wish to avail of Option 4 on the brochure in way of support: https://www.gofundme.com/…/training-facilities…
CITY SENIOR HURLING LEAGUE: Unfortunately, in our first senior hurling league match, we suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Ballybrown. Due to various circumstances, we were without twelve of our county final panel and came up against a strong Ballybrown side in fine form. It is an indication of the quality of hurling at senior level. However, it was a great to get back on the pitch for the first game of the new season and it was great to be able to play in front of supporters again. We are in action again next weekend against Monaleen.
CITY JUNIOR A HURLING LEAGUE: Unfortunately, our junior hurlers were unable to take to the field against Monaleen; the match being cancelled at short notice. They are in action against Old Christians next weekend.
WEST SENIOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE: Our footballers also embark in senior league action on Tuesday night; the first match against Newcastlewest in Pallaskenry.
LIMERICK HURLERS: It was a great weekend for our clubmen on the Limerick senior hurling panel, as both Kyle Hayes and Darren O’Connell struck goals as Limerick closed out their league campaign with a victory against Westmeath. This was the first time in the club’s history that they had two goalscorers in the same match on the county scene.
LIMERICK FOOTBALLERS: Hard luck to Peter Nash, Tony McCarthy and the Limerick senior footballers who pushed Derry all the way in the Division 3 semi-final at the weekend, but just missed out on promotion. However, it was a strong performance and attention now turns to Championship preparations.
CLOTHES COLLECTION: Our clothes collection has once again commenced; thanks to everyone who contributed to our last efforts. Drop-offs available or collection if required. The clubhouse in Kildimo will be open next Tuesday, June 15 and Thursday, June 24. July dates still to be confirmed. Contact: David Higgins 087-112 9226.
