Congratulations to the Glenroe U13’s team for their county final victory against Knockaderry in Rathkeale on Saturday. They put in an incredible performance winning by a scoreline of 2-10 to 1-0. Well done to the management and the players who put in great work throughout the year.

Glenroe Premier Intermediates fall short in the County Semi Final
Glenroe Premier Intermediate team fell short in the County Semi Final against Mungret in Kilmallock on Saturday. Glenroe got off to a tough start that they couldn’t recover from when Mungret got a goal in the first five minutes of the game. The pressure was relentless from Mungret taking a commanding lead of 9 points going into the first water break. The scores were 1-08 to 0-02 in Mungrets favour. Glenroe tried to pull themselves back into it in the Mungret side which resulted in Mungret pushing their lead out to 10 points going into
the half time break. The scores were 1-11 to 0-04 at half time. The second half followed the same pattern as Glenroe could not get the possession to get them back onto the game as Mungret punished any mistakes that were made. The scores going into the last quarter on the game were 1-15 to 0-07 in Mungrets favour. Despite Glenroe finishing the game strong it was too much of a lead to pull back. The Final score was Mungret 1-18 to Glenroe 0-11. The loss spells the end of the season for Glenroe’s Premier Intermediate team thanks to the management and the players for a fantastic season and we look forward to seeing them play again.

Bereavements
We are utterly devasted by the loss of two great gaels in Glenroe today. We received the heartbreaking news on Sunday afternoon that Dave Mc Carthy had gone to his eternal rest. A devastating loss to our Club & Community. We are beyond heartbroken. Tom Lyons also passed away a short time later . Heaven has gained two of the best Club men & GAA supporters. All things GAA will be discussed in heaven tonight. We ask you to keep both families in your prayers.
