Bord Na nÓg

U14’s had a great win last Sunday morning when they beat Kilmallock in the Division 1 shield final.

Garryspillane led at the break 1.6 to 5 points thanks to some fine free taking from Shane Ryan, a goal from Jack Gallagher on the 23 minute and a point from play from Paddy English just before the half time mark.

The rain started to fall in the second half but it didn’t take from the standard of hurling from both sides with great displays of hooking and blocking on show. Again, Shane Ryan kept slotting over the frees and one from play, with Jack Gallagher and Evan O’Connor getting on the score sheet with well taken points from play. It wasn’t all about the scoring though with every player putting in savage work rate and earning the young Bouncers a well-deserved win. Final score Garryspillane 1.12 – Kilmallock 8 points.
