FR CASEYS GAA CLUB NOTES
County U21 Football Semi-Final
Fr. Caseys Vs Mungret, Friday December 3rd in Mick Neville Park at 8.00pm
County U21 Football Championship
Fr. Caseys 5-11 Monaleen 0-04
Fr. Caseys U21 Footballers travelled to Mick Neville Park last Friday to take on Monaleen with a place in the semi-final stages up for grabs. A win or draw was required to qualify and the Abbeyfeale men made a powerful start kicking the opening two points. Monaleen replied with a point but then on 10 minutes Fr. Caseys rattled the net for their first goal of the night. Before the first water break Fr. Caseys struck for a second goal while Monaleen in reply lofted over two more points leaving the scores 2-02 to 0-03. The second quarter belonged to Fr. Caseys kicking 1-04 to a single point from their city counterparts and establishing a commanding half time lead. When the first half whistle went Fr. Caseys held a very impressive 11 point lead with the scoreboard reading 3-06 to 0-04.
Fr. Caseys now had their eyes on the prize and produced another commanding display in the second half to finalise the contest and book their semi-final spot. On a night when our forwards gave a scoring exhibition, adding another 2-05 to the scoreboard, our backs also excelled in their duals holding Monaleen scoreless for the entire second period. What had promised to be a potentially difficult game ended with Fr. Caseys running out winners with 22 points to spare.
Our U21 Footballers now play Mungret in the County Semi-Final this Friday December 3rd in Mick Neville Park with an 8pm throw in. This promises to be a very exciting game and we would love to see you there to support the team. All entry tickets for this competition must be purchased online. Please view our club Facebook page for the related ticket purchase link. We wish all players and management the very best of luck and hopefully we can continue the recent winning streak and reach another final.
