County U21 Football Championship
Fr. Caseys 1-20 Na Piarsaigh 1-08
Fr. Caseys U21 Footballers travelled to Mick Neville Park last Friday night for round 2 of the county championship. Having drew with St. Kierans in the opening round, victory over Na Piarsaigh was paramount to keep knockout qualification hopes alive. Aiding by the breeze Fr. Caseys started in blistering fashion and a mix of well taken scores and a defence in command produced a very impressive 1-13 to 0-01 half time lead. Fr. Caseys goal came from Mark Nolan who was also impressing on the night.
The second half was more of a balanced affair with Na Piarsaigh outscoring Fr. Caseys 1-07 to 0-07 but the victory was never in doubt and Fr. Caseys in the end had 12 points to spare after a very impressive team performance. Eliah Riordan with two perfectly converted 45s was also a highlight on the night. A much tougher test awaits in the final group game with Monaleen where a win or draw should seal a place in the knockout stages. Well done to Cormac, Daniel, Killian and Ronan who are moulding a very positive team and we wish them the very best of luck in the coming weeks.
