Limerick GAA:
The Limerick Senior Footballers with Adrian Enright starting at wing forward travelled to Louth last Sunday to take on the home side in round 3 of the National League. Both sides were looking to register their first points of the campaign and give their Division 2 survival hopes a major boost. At half time the teams were level but unfortunately it was Louth who emerged victorious in the end, winning 1-15 to 1-13. Next Sunday Limerick are on the road again when they face Cork in Pairc Ui Chaoimh with a 3.45pm start.

The Limerick U20 Footballers with Diarmuid Buckley starting at centre back made the trip to Quilty last Saturday to face Clare in round two of the Liam Connor cup. Having defeated Tipperary in the opening round they were seeking back to back wins. Despite a promising first half where they trailed the home side by just four points at the break, a strong second half display saw Clare claim a 2-14 to 0-05 win.

Well done to Adam Murphy, Ronan O’Connell and Cathal Woulfe who were named on the 33 man Limerick Minor Football Panel in the past week. Limerick will play three round robin games with Clare, Waterford and Tipperary starting on April 13th with the top two sides qualifying for a Munster semi-final. On the Limerick Minor Hurling team we are delighted to have Liam O’Connor involved. They will begin their championship campaign away to Waterford on March 21st.

Well done also to Seamus Lenihan and Maurice O’Connor who were both selected to represent Limerick in the county’s first entry into the All-Ireland Masters Championship this summer. Up to 22 teams will contest the competition with the first round of games scheduled for May. The draw for this championship is still pending.

Hard luck to Gerard O’Connor who was involved as a selector in the UL Sigerson team which narrowly lost the All-Ireland College Football Final to UCC last Wednesday evening, losing by 1-16 to 0-16 after a gallant battle that needed extra time to separate the teams.
