FEDAMORE GAA CLUB NOTES
Kilpeacon minors
The bank holiday was kicked off in style as we were treated to a classic in Caherelly last Friday night in the premier minor hurling championship. Kilpeacon, made up of Fedamore, Ballybricken & Bohermore and Crecora faced the Niall Moran managed Ahane in an eagerly anticipated match.
Both teams started well with Ahane using the breeze to their advantage and shooting some good early scores. The Kilpeacon forwards posed a serious threat and relied on goals to keep in touch. At half time the minimum seperated the sides with the score Kilpeacon 4:4 – 1:12 Ahane.
The 2nd half started brightly with both teams showing a never say die attitude. With injury time approaching Kilpeacon were 3 points down. However, a goal and two points without reply for Kilpeacon and victory was within touching distance. Ahane to their credit got the last two points and the whistle from Eamon Phelan left both teams with a share of the spoils on a final scoreline of Kilpeacon 5:15 – 2:24 Ahane.
Well done to both sets of players and management. It was great to see so many supporters at the game also. There is a break now until after the Leaving Cert.
We would also like to wish the best of luck to Cian Enright with his recovery after receiving an ankle injury in the first half.
