DROMIN-ATHLACCA GAA CLUB NOTES

AGM
History was made in our Club again this week when for the first time, the Annual General Meeting of the Dromin Athlacca GAA Club was held virtually. Due to recent HSE advise, it was agreed that in the interest of safety, the AGM would not be held in person. The Zoom meeting was a great success and many thanks to the organisers for putting so making it easy for all to join and be involved.
The detailed Chairmans address thanked all who worked so tirelessly to keep our Club open and acknowledged the great work of the Maintenance Team, Covid Officers, Parents, Members and Players, Development Officers and all Coaches without whom, our Club would not be the success it is today. Special mention to all our players who were such a credit to Club and Parish at County level in both Hurling, Football and Camogie with huge Congratulations to Senior County Hurler David Reidy for all his success.
The Secretaries Report highlighted all the success and achievements our Club has accomplished this year which instils great hope and confidence for the future.
The report from the Development Officer, Anthony Liddane outlined the amount of work all Coaches have done throughout the past years to ensure our underage get the best possible opportunities. We also heard of the collaboration between Club and Primary Schools in both Athlacca and Baongue to ensure all in our community get an introduction to GAA. This will also pave the way to future success in our club.
Mike Ryan gave a comprehensive report on the financial affairs in the Treasurers Report and outlined plans for further development of our Clubhouse particularly Astroturf and fencing at the Ball Wall.
Tom Griffin gave a thorough review of the Juvenile Club and again acknowledged the fantastic achievement of so many underage players who represented the club and intercountry level at Hurling, Camogie and Football.
