DROMIN/ATHLACCA GAA CLUB NOTES

Due to the current situation with the world pandemic of Corona Virus and Covid – 19, we have are following the national advice of GAA Headquarters and Limerick County Board to cease all sporting eveints within our club. This includes training and matches, for all age groups, until March 29th. This is not to cause worry or alarm but it is a way of helping to contain the current outbreak in these unprecedent times. Research shows that social distancing has been of tremendous benefit in significantly reducing the spread of the virus. Our coaches and mentors of all ages are communicating skills and advice that our players can follow to help maintain their skills. We look forward to to seeing you all back on our playing pitches in the near future and we ask that you follow the advice of the HSE remember hand washing and social distancing

All club championships matches scheduled for April are now postponed. It is propsed that we will engage with the Provincial Council and National CCC with a view to restructure of our game programme. This may include the redesign of current formats. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and Instagram for updates.

In the meantime, we are aware that our club is committed to helping people in our community. The Limerick Club Draw as put on hold at this time. Limerick GAA have made a decision to postpone the draw until further notice.

Lotto: The Club Lotto draw is currently on hold due to the Corona Virus Outbreak. It will return in due course.

Garda Vetting: All our coaches who will be involved with players up to the age of 18 years old have to be Garda Vetted. It is an easy process to go through. Garda vetting services are available to any person over 16 years if age who are in a position of responsibility over children. Consent from a parent/guardian shall be required for applicants between the age of 16 & 18 years if age. Queries on garda vetting can be made to Child Welfare officer Mary Herlihy.
