This was a very hard-fought game which we unlucky to lose out on the night as late goals turned the way of our opponents who were slightly the better team The table after three rounds reads as follows: Ballybricken/ Bohermore 6 points, Caherline and Crecora/ Manister both on four points, Dromcollogher/ Broadford, Templeglantine both on two points, and Old Christians on zero points. Derry McCarthy of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Tom Young of Templeglantine exchanged points early in the game and then Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Aaron McCarthy of Templeglantine exchanged points. Templeglantine scored the next 1-2 of the game, with the goal coming from penalty from Mark McCarthy after a foul from Michael Boyce with 12 minutes gone in the game and the points came from Aaron McCarthy and Mark McCarthy to lead by five points. Micheál Brosnan of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Mark McCarthy of Templeglantine exchanged points and then Aaron Murphy scored the next point for Templeglantine just the water break to give a lead of seven points. Templeglantine scored the next points coming from Tom Young and Mark McCarthy to leave nine points between the sides. We were well defeated by Knockaderry on a scoreline of 2-17 to 1-09, this was our second loss of the year, and the above club would like to thank the panel of players and the management team of Pat McCarthy, Brian Downes, and Adrian Cahill for their effort during in the year gone by.

This was a game of two halves with our first half coming from Adam Cotter, at half-time there was a goal between the sides and then in the second half we outscored St. Senan’s on a scoreline of 6 points to a point. The above club would like to congratulate the above panel of players in putting a brilliant performance on the night and the Management Team of Eoin Barry, Jason Stokes, and Kevin McGill on getting the victory over St. Senan’s on the night and the very best of luck in the Semi-Final.
Killian Cahill of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and AJ Moroney of St. Senan’s exchanged points early in the game and then AJ Moroney scored his second point of the game of the for St. Senan’s to give the lead for the first time during the game. Adam Cotter of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first and only goal of the game after receiving a lovely hand pass from Killian Cahill with 9 minutes gone in the game to give us lead of two points and then Lee Foley of Dromcollogher/ Broadford and Oisin Finucane exchanged points just before the water break to leave two points between at the water break. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points, and these points came from Alan Power, Séan Madden, and Lee Foley to lead by five points and then St. Senan’s replied with the next two points just before the break to leave a goal between the sides at end of the half and these points came from
Senan O’Brien and Killian O’Mahony. To leave the score at half-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-5 to St. Senan’s 0-5.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points and with two of these points both coming from Micheál Fahy both from frees and the other coming from Alan Power and then Aaron Kearns and Killian Cahill both exchanged points to leave six points between the sides once again. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next last two points of the game to leave eight points between the sides at end of the game and these points came from Micheál Fahy from a free which the score of the game from a very tight angle and the other point came from Séan Madden. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-11 to St. Senan’s 0-06.

U13 Division 1 Football Championship Semi-Final
On Friday night last our footballers travelled to Mick Neville Park (Rathkeale) to take on Oola in the division 1County Semi-Final. Our boys started brightly scoring 2 early goals. Oola started to get more into the game scoring a few goals of their own. This turned out to be a very close game of football with both sets of players working extremely hard to get scores. Going into the last 7 or 8 minutes Dromcollogher/ Broadford were trailing by 7 points, but our boys failed to give up kept working hard brought the score down to 3 points kept pressing for scores but ran out of time. The final score was Oola 6-4 to Dromcollogher / Broadford 5-4. This has been a great experience for a great bunch of players to play at the top division this year. Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw
The following are the Results of the Lotto Draw that took place on the 20-09-2021, and the numbers were: 9, 11, 17, 32. There was no winner of Jackpot at €3,200 and there was two winners of match three at €100 and they each got €50 and they were: Sean Deedy, Bruree and Blaithan Matthews, Dromcollogher and the Lucky Dips at €50 each were: John Kenneally, Broadford, and Carmel Leahy, Dromcollogher and next week’s draw will take place Monday 27-09-21, in the GAA Field, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot will be going up to €3,300 and the Match Three will be staying at €100.
Lotto tickets are available in local shops in the area where the boxes are provided and available for sale in the local square on Friday and Saturday mornings from 9am to 1pm.
New Defibrillator and Defibrillator Training
On behalf of Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA we would like to thank everyone that contributed to our fundraiser to purchase our new defibrillator and heated storage box. We now have a new LIFEPAK CR2 Defibrillator stored in a heated Defibstore 4000 Polycarbonate box, and it is positioned on the front wall of our clubhouse. Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA would like to train all our community in how to use the defibrillator, especially given what has happened in recent times. We think everyone should avail of this opportunity.
