U19 County B Football Championship Group 2 Round 2

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-07
This was a very tight between two evenly matched teams with our goals coming from Alan Power and Lee Foley. Our last game is against Athea which is a mist win to qualify for the quarter finals and we also need Knockaderry to win over Shannon Gaels for us to qualify on a score difference in a three-way playoff, if results go this way all three teams will by tied on two points and it wall come down to score difference between the three teams in question (Dromcollogher/ Broadford, Shannon Gales, Athea).
Knockaderry scored the first point of the game and then Alan Power replied with a goal for Dromcollogher/ Broadford with six minutes gone in the game to lead by two points. Lee Foley of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored a point from a play to leave a goal between the sides and then Knockaderry scored the next 1-2 to lead by two points at the break. To leave score at half-time Knockaderry 1-3 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 1-1.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first three points of the second half and these points came from Graham Roche, Ryan Reidy, and Lee Foley to give us the lead by a point and then Knockaderry scored another point to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Alan Power and Pat Curtin to give us lead of two points and then Knockaderry scored the next four points to lead by two points. Lee Foley scored the second goal of the game for Dromcollogher/ Broadford with 56 minutes gone in the game to give us the lead by a point and then Knockaderry the next point to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game. Lee Foley to give us back the lead once again with a point and then Knockaderry replied with a goal with 60 minutes to give them victory by two points. To leave the score at full-time Knockaderry 2-9 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-7.

U19 County Minor B Hurling Championship Group 2 Round 2
We well defeated by Granagh/ Ballingarry on a scoreline of 4-22 to 0-09 on last Friday night.
County Junior A Football Championship Group 1 Round 1
We were defeated by Mungret/ St. Paul’s on a scoreline of 3-19 to 1-6 with our goal coming from Killian Cahill and the points came from Keith Lacey 2 points (frees), Brian Stack 2 points, Killian Cahill, and Thomas Fitzgerald a point each, our next game is against Banogue, on Wednesday August 25th, in Kilbreedy, at 7pm, referee Michael Sexton (Bruree). U13 Football Notes
On Thursday night last our footballers played their last group game against Monaleen. The boys were a bit slow to start, they tried hard to get into the game at the first water break the boys were down a point. After the first water break Monaleen dominated with the breeze with Monaleen up 7 points at half-time. Starting the second half the boys really upped the gears getting some brilliant scores finishing the game on a scoreline of Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-9 to Monaleen 1-10. This team are maturing in every game their families should be very proud of these boys. Thanks again for all the support again and thanks to David McGuiness who refereed the game. McCarthy Ryan Sheehan and Brendan Geary were both injured on the night.

The following are the Results of the Lotto Draw that took place on the 16-08-2021, and the numbers were: 7, 17, 22, 32. There was no winner of Jackpot at €2,700 and there was two winners of the match three at €100 and they each got €50 and they were: Tommy Mullane, Broadford and Michael Nolan, Fehoanagh and the Lucky Dips at €50 each were: Jack Ryan, Dromcollogher and Séamus Lordan, Dromcollogher and next week’s draw will take place Monday 23-08-21, in the GAA Field, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot will be going up to €2,800 and the Match Three will be staying at €100.

New Defibrillator and Defibrillator Training
On behalf of Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA we would like to thank everyone that contributed to our fundraiser to purchase our new defibrillator and heated storage box. We now have a new LIFEPAK CR2 Defibrillator stored in a heated Defibstore 4000 Polycarbonate box and it is positioned on the front wall of our clubhouse. Dromcollogher/Broadford GAA would like to train all of our community in how to use the defibrillator, especially given what has happened in recent times. We think everyone should avail of this opportunity.
