This was a very tight with St. Kieran’s coming on top on the night with a goal coming in the first half of the game and two goals for Dromcollogher/ Broadford both came in the second half coming from Cillian Fahy and Derry McCarthy from penalty, and our four points came from Cillian Fay 2 points and Paul Madigan 2 points, the above club would to thank the management team of Mike Fahy, Seanie Buckley, Liam McGraynor and Diarmuid Carroll and Kitman Garry Noonan and the panel of players led by Derry McCarthy Captain.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first three points of the game with two coming from Paul Madigan and the other from a free Cillian Fahy and then St. Kieran’s scored the next 1-5 without reply from Dromcollogher/ Broadford to lead by five points at the break. To leave the score at half-time St. Kieran’s 1-5 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-3.

St. Kieran’s scored the first point of the second half to lead by six points and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next 1-1 with both scores coming from Cillian Fahy to leave two points between the sides with 38 minutes gone in the game. St. Kieran’s scored the four points to leave six points between the sides and then Derry McCarthy then scored the next goal from penalty for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave three points between the sides with 57 minutes gone in the game. St. Kieran’s scored the last point of the game to leave four points between the sides at end of the game. To leave the score at full-time St. Kieran’s 1-11 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 2-04.

U13 Football Notes

On Monday night our U13 footballers played there first game of the competition. This game was played in Drom against Granagh/ Ballingarry, it was great to see a panel of twenty players on the night. This turned out to be a tough game of football with Dromcollogher/ Broadford emerging winners by 4 points. The line-out was as follows: A. Angland. G. Farrell, A. Leahy, S. Egan, A. U12 Hurling Notes

On Friday night our hurlers travelled to UL for their last match of the campaign. This match was against a very strong Cappamore team, we had a full panel for this game. With everyone of our players tried very hard on the night for forty minutes. Cappamore got the better start by getting a few scores, we were chasing the game after that but kept working hard were unlucky with the result at the end. This was the last game for some of our older boys at this grade. On behalf of the management we would like to thank all the players for their time and commitment all year, not forget all the parents for their help and support. It was a pleasure to be involved with these great bunch of players. These boys have a great future ahead of them, all I ask of them who ever may coaching them in the years ahead keep up the hard work. U11 Hurling Notes

On Sunday last our U11 Hurlers were invited to play in the Rory O’Donnell Tournament for the second year. There were four teams in the tournament. We were first up against Monagea which were very strong. This did not stop our boys for battling for the whole duration of the game. Monagea emerged winners and went on to play in the Cup Final. Next up for Dromcollogher/ Broadford was the meeting of Feohanagh/ Castlemahon for the shield final. This turned out to be very hard-fought game, there some great scores got in this game. Our boys showed some great character hooking, blocking from everyone of our players. Dromcollogher/ Broadford emerged winners of the Rory O’Donnell shield for the second year in a row. Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 359th draw took place on October 24th, in Neenan’s Bar, Broaford and the numbers drawn were: 3, 21, 22, 25 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €6,800 and there also was also no winner match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Maura Meaney, Dromcollogher and Jack Ruddock Jnr, Dromcollogher and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday October 14th, in The Corner House, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot is going up to €6,900 and the match three is staying at €100. Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.
