FOR WEST MINOR A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL AGAINST ADARE, ON TOMORROW THURSDAY AUGUST 29TH, IN BALLINAGARRY, AT 6.15PM (WITH EXTRA-TIME IF NECESSARY), REFREE WAYNE FITZGERALD.

On the way to the final in the groups stages, in round 1 we defeated Adare on a scoreline of 3-07 to 1-12, in round 2 we defeated Shannon Gaels on a scoreline of 2-12 to 0-6, in round 3 we drew with Na Pairsaigh on a scoreline of 5-4 to 2-14, in round 4 we drew with Na Pairsaigh on scoreline of 5-11 to 2-05 and in the 5th round and final we defeated Rathkeale on a scoreline of 4-3 to 1-11 and then in the Semi-Final we defeated Shannon Gaels on a scoreline of 1-19 to 1-08 to book our place in the final for the first time since 2012 and we did not win on that day and the last Minor A Football Championship that we won was back in 2010 on that we defeated Adare on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-05, it happens that the two sides will meet again on tomorrow Thursday August 29th, in Ballingarry, at 6.15pm (with extra-time if necessary), referee Wayne Fitzgerald. County Junior A Football Championship Group 2 Round 3

Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-13

Monaleen 1-06

This was a game of two halves with Monaleen leading by 0-6 to 0-5 at the break and the in the second half we outscored Monaleen by 0-8 to 1-0 with their goal coming from penalty, the table after three rounds reads as follows: Fr. Casey’s and Dromcollogher/ Broadford both on six points and Hospital/ Herbertstown and Monaleen both on 2 points and Knockane have withdrawn from the competition and our last game of the group stages is against Fr. Casey’s, on Sunday September 22nd, in Tournafulla, at 12 noon. Please Support our Junior Footballers led by Garrett Noonan and our Junior Footballers led by Conor Brosnan.

Monaleen scored the first two points of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next four points and these points came from: Ray Lynch, Patrick Donnelly, Colm Ryan and John O’Kelly to give us a lead of two points. Monaleen scored the next point to leave a point between the sides and then Colm Ryan then scored the next point for Dromcollogher/ Broadford to leave two points between the sides. Monaleen scored the last three points of the half to lead by a point at the break with one from 45m and the other from a free and the other play. To leave the score at half-time Monaleen 0-6 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-5.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first four points of the second half to lead by three points with three of these point coming from Patrick Donnelly and other point coming from Marty Stokes and then Monaleen scored a goal from penalty to bring sides back on level terms for the first time during the game with 43 minutes gone in the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the last four points of the game to give us victory by three points and with two of these came from John O’Kelly and other points came from: Ray Lynch and Colm Ryan. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-13 to Monaleen 1-06.

This was a very tight game with Dromcollogher/ Broadford leading by at the break by 1-5 to 0-7 with our coming from Derry McCarthy from penalty and then in the second half Na Pairsaigh out scored us by 1-5 to 0-7 with their goal coming from Conor McLoughlin, this results puts into the regulation against St. Senan’s, more details to follow during the week on this fixture. The table after five rounds in as follows: Oola 10 points, Newcastle West 8 points, St. Kieran’s 6 points, Na Pairsaigh 4 points, Galbally 2 points and Dromcollogher/ Broadford no points, hard luck to the management team of Mike Fahy, Séan Buckley, Liam McGraynor and Diarmuid O’Carroll and Kitman Garry Noonan and the panel of the players led by their captain Derry McCarthy.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points and these points came from Derry McCarthy and James Molyneaux to give us a lead of point and then Kieran Daly scored the next point to bring sides back on level terms for the sixth time during the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to give us of three points and these points came from Derry McCarthy, Kevin Noonan and Garrett Noonan and then Na Pairsaigh scored the last four points of the game to them victory by a point and these points came with two of these coming from Eoin Hogan and the other points coming from Gordon Browne and Kieran Daly. Results of the 353rd draw took place on August 26th, in Neenan’s Bar, Broadford and the numbers drawn were: 3, 6, 19,31 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €6,200 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: John Walsh, Dromcollogher and Kieran Ryan, Dromcollogher, and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday September 2nd, in the Green Bar, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot is going up to €6,300 and the match three is staying at €100. Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

The third draw of the non-stop draw took place after 9.30am mass in Broadford on Sunday last and the following the winners in the draw: €500 Phil Collins, Dromcollogher and €200 Nuala O’Callaghan, Farrihy, Broadford, €100 Séan Neenan, Broadford, €100 Nellie Noonan, Dromcollogher and €100 Liam Leahy and the above club would like to thank to thank any person that gave money towards the draw.
