Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-21

Glenroe 4-06

This was a game of two halves with Glenroe leading by 3-4 to 0-10 and then in the second half we scored 0-11 to Glenroe 1-2 to leave three points between the sides at end of the game. The table stands as follows Glenroe 10 points, Newcastle West 9 points, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 8 points, Feenagh/ Kilmeedy 7 points, Killeedy 6 points, Monagea 5 points, Knockaderry 4 points and Tournafulla no points.

Glenroe scored the first two points of the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points of the game to give us a lead of a point and these points came from Niall O’Brien, Denis Donegan and Derry McCarthy. Glenroe scored the next point of the game to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to give us a lead of three points and these points came from Derry McCarthy, Niall O’Brien and Damien Burke. Glenroe scored the next the first goal of the game with 21 minutes gone in the game to bring sides back on level terms for the third time during the game and then Derry McCarthy scored the next two points to give us a lead of two points. Glenroe scored the next two goals of the game to lead by four points with 25 minutes gone in the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the two next points of the half to leave two points between the sides and these points came from Denis Donegan and Declan Stack. Glenroe scored the last point of the half to leave three points between the sides at end of the half. To leave the score at half-time Glenroe 3-04, Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-11.

Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to bring sides back on level terms for the fourth time during the game and with two of these coming from Derry McCarthy and the other point coming from Paul Madigan. Glenroe scoring the next two points to take the lead by two points and then Denis Donegan scored the next point of the game to leave a point between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point of the game coming from Conor Brosnan which was the point of the game to bring sides for the fifth time during the game and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next five points to lead by five points with two players scoring two points and they were Derry McCarthy and Damien Burke and the other point came from Declan Stack. Glenroe scored the next goal of the game with 57 minutes gone in the game to leave two points between the sides and then Derry McCarthy scored the last point of the game to leave three points between the sides at end of the game. To leave the score at full-time Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-21 to Glenroe 4-06.

We were well defeated by Killeedy on a scoreline of 3-17 to 0-07, with all seven points coming from Thomas Fitzgerald all from frees, the above club would like to thank the management team of Pat McCarthy, Adrian Cahill and Brian Downes and the also the players led by Brian Fitzgerald Captain for their effort during the year gone by.

We were well defeated by Askeaton on a scoreline of 4-15 to 0-06, this was our last game in the group stages and we play Killeedy/ Tournafulla in the Quarter Final, on Friday August 26th, venue, time, referee to be announced. Dromcollogher/ Broadford GAA Club Lotto Draw

Results of the 347th draw took place on July 15th, in Begley’s Bar, Broaford and the numbers drawn were: 4, 5, 7, 20 there was no winner of the jackpot was at €5,600 and there also was no winner of match three at €100 and the two lucky dips of €50 each were: Katie Lordan, Dromcollogher and Dan Kennedly, Broadford, and the next draw will take place on this coming Monday July 22nd, in the Corner House, Dromcollogher and the Jackpot is going to €5,700 and the match three is staying at €100. Tickets are available from any committee member or any promoter at €2 each or 3 for €5.

To the Limerick U20 Footballers Management Team led by Jerry O’Sullivan (Newcastle West) and Limerick U20 Footballers and especially to our club player James Molyneaux scored 1-1 and especially to John Cregan (Chairman of the Limerick County Board) against Kerry, Limerick lost to Kerry on a scoreline of 0-18 to 1-03, in the U20 Munster Football Championship Semi-Final.
