This was a very tight game played down in Askeaton, on last Saturday evening, in very good conditions.
Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first point of the game coming from play and then Askeaton replied with a point to bring sides back on level terms for the first time during the game. Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point to give us back the lead from play and then Askeaton scored the next point to bring sides back on level terms for the second time during the game. Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two pointed frees to give us back the lead back again by two points and then Askeaton scored the next eight points of the game without reply from Dromcollogher/ Broadford lead by six points. Keith Lacey of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next point coming from a free just before the break to leave five points at end of the half. To leave the score at half-time Askeaton 0-10 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-5.
Damien Burke of Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the first point of the second half next to leave four points between the sides and then Askeaton scored the next point to leave five points between the sides. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next three points to leave two points between the sides and these points came from Paul Madigan, Damien Burke and Brian Noonan. Askeaton scored the next point to leave three points between the sides and then Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next two points coming from Shane Murphy and Brian O’Callaghan to leave a point between the sides. Askeaton scored the next 1-1 of the game without reply from Dromcollogher/ Broadford to lead by five points with 49 minutes gone in the game. Dromcollogher/ Broadford scored the next four points with three of these points coming from Keith Lacey and the other point came from Gerard Noonan to leave a point between the sides and then Askeaton scored the next point just before the end of the half to leave two sides between the sides at end of the game. To leave the score at full-time Askeaton 1-14 to Dromcollogher/ Broadford 0-15.
