CROOM GAA CLUB NOTES

 

Official Launch of Club Plan:

Croom GAA are delighted to announce the offical launch of the Club’s 3 Year Plan on Tuesday June 18th from 6.30pm. We will be welcoming the President of the GAA John Horan as our special guest. The club has been working on this plan for the last few months and were kindly facilitated by Donal Fitzgibbon and Seamus Twomey. We invite everyone in the club and parish to come along and partake in this very special occasion and see what direction the club hopes to take over the coming years.
Intermediate Hurling:
Last Saturday we played our fourth game in the county league but lost out on a scorleine of 2.19 to 1.18.
Junior A Football:
This Thursday May 30th we are due to play our first match of the year in the South League v Bruree in Banogue at 7.30pm.
Junior B Hurling:
Last week we lost away to Garryspillane by 3.19 to 4.12 and Tuesday May 28th we were due to play Hospital/Herbertstown in Croom at 7.30pm.
U14s:
Last Wednesday we had to give a walkover to Galtee Gaels in football due to a combination of illness and injuries. Next matches are Monday May 27th away v Blackrock in football; Wednesday May 29th away v St. Kierans in hurling (all games 7pm).
U12s:
Our U12s played Castletown/Ballyagran last week at home but lost out by 1.04 to 7.77. The team tried very hard and fought right to the end and are working hard to practice and improve for the rest of the season.Thank you to John Dunworth and his coaches for their commitment to helping this group develop. This Thursday May 30th we are at home v Bruree in football at 6.45pm.
U10s:
Our U10s will continue training this week for their next hurling blitz in Castletown on Friday June 7th.
U8s:
Last Friday our U8s played in a football blitz in Hospital. They played games against Cois Laoi Gaels, Pallasgreen and Bruff and won all 3. Thanks to coach Trevor Costello, and to all parents who came along and supported their kids which is hugely important for them. Next up is hurling training on Thursday at 6.30pm. Any parents interested in helping out, please contact Trevor. U6s: Our U6s have training as usual this Thursday from 6-7pm. This week it is football. Don’t forget to bring a gumshield and drink. All are welcome including new players or those kids wanting to give GAA a try for the first time. Club Limerick Draw: We had 2 winners in the May draw held last Saturday on Live 95FM. Joan Quigley winning €250 and Mike Mangan €100. Enjoy your winnings! You can still enter the draw, just contact Noreen Reidy, our draw co-ordinator.
