BORD NA NÓG
U13s . Congratulations to our U13 Hurlers on a fantastic win this morning in the Final of the Askeaton tournament vs. Templeglantine. It was an early start for both teams, morning dew surfaced the sod in Askeaton soon to disappear as play got under way. From the word go the Croom lads took the game to their opponents and controlled the game in most positions. Scores of quality from, Sean Óg Cahill Hayes leading the way and Ódhran Mangan chipping in scoring an early goal and a point to set the tone. Templeglantine as expected fought very hard making life extremely difficult for Croom. Hard working Ryan O’Carroll, Gearoid O’ Donoghue, Liam Kingston, Jack Mcinteer (Capt.), Rían Costello, Conor O’ Mahony all winning vital ball at critical times with Costello shaving the post with a blistering shot just before half time.
In defence there were some special performances led by Tommy Reidy, Noah Reidy, Daniel De Bunes, Tomas Costello, Harry Mcinteer, Liam O’ Donovan & Cormac Clancy in goals safe as houses as always! Fantastic teamwork on display.
Further scores from Sean Óg, Gearoid O’ Donoghue, Liam Kingston extended Croom’s lead. The introduction of Cathal McCarthy, Pa Shinnors and back for injury Dermot Collins added freshness to the defence and inside forward line, each doing their job very well indeed.
A final ball into the Croom full back-line saw Harry Mcinteer pluck the ball out of the clouds securing possession for the Croom boys, with time up referee Mike Browne blew the final whistle and Croom were victorious.
Well done to Templeglantine for a great game, you are a credit to your coaches and club.
